Executive Director Search (Spring 2018)

The CultureSeed Board is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic self starter to lead the young nonprofit organization founded in 2015.

CultureSeed empowers individuals to thrive through experiential learning programs that demonstrate holistic approaches to living in balance with ourselves, others, and the earth. Through a variety of ways, CultureSeed showcases regenerative and holistic ways to influence individual care and community engagement by bringing together educators, artists, practitioners, and community leaders to create experiential learning programs and transformational events.

Using mindfulness, yoga, permaculture, and connection to nature, CultureSeed supports individuals and communities to thrive. In addition to self-originated programs, we offer fiscal sponsorship to aligned efforts which exemplify and extend the principles which undergird our organization.

Job Summary

CultureSeed is seeking an Executive Director with a strong track record in fundraising, relationship building, communications, and administrative skills to raise funds, oversee program execution, and manage all aspects of a growing 501(c)3 organization. The ideal candidate lives our organizational mission and works collaboratively with the Board and partner organizations and provides strong mentoring to our program managers. Our Executive Director will fundraise and administer all aspects of the organization, including overseeing finances, communications and programming.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with the Board of Directors to design and implement an updated strategic plan.

Refine and execute a fundraising plan to cultivate new and existing relationships. Secure financial support from individual donors and foundations. This will include:

·      A compelling communications strategy,

·      Powerful content development,

·      Strategic research, selection and applications for grants,

·      Diligent grant management to ensure compliance, and

·      Thoughtful search and support for program specific RFPs and grant writing for distinct programmatic work.

Administer all fiscal, legal, and reporting requirements to ensure sound management and accounting in accordance with local, state and federal laws governing operation of a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Recruit and manage staff and volunteers to ensure outstanding program execution and delivery.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a leader who will further CultureSeed’s fiscal health, influence and visibility as a leader in individual and community health and engagement within the Columbia Gorge area and beyond.

The ideal candidate will have:

At least three years of experience in non-profit fundraising, fiscal administration and program management.

Life experience, work experience and training to engage underserved and underrepresented individuals, and championing equity and social justice in your work/community.

Success with grants writing, individual donor solicitations and giving programs, planned giving, contracts, etc.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Social Media Platforms.

Existing networks of local/regional public, private and non-profit/ foundation partners (a plus).

This is position is part time (20-30 hrs/week, no benefits) to start with the goal for full time and benefits as funding grows.
